• Full service school for students in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. Our small class size allows us to individualize every aspect of your child's academic work, without compromising  rigorous learning.
• Tutoring services are available for students who are not enrolled in Nature's Gate Learning Center as full time students. If your child is struggling academically or looking to accelerate their rate of growth in Reading, Writing or Math, we will create a personalized support system to help them meet their goals.  Tutoring is available for students  in most courses through High School.
• We identify academic barriers to success and work to overcome them.
• Each student has their optimal way and pace of learning and would naturally be expected to demonstrate proficiency in the material at different times. As such, I believe in giving credit for learned material, no matter when in the semester the material is learned. 
• We use materials from the real world to meet student benchmarks:

---Using real data to teach math lessons.

---Visiting Sweetwater Wetlands while studying habitats and               ecosystems.

---Using fiction and nonfiction, newspapers and articles to develop reading comprehension skills and explore social studies.

---Using games to teach and assess core content.

I founded Nature’s Gate Learning Center after my roles as a teacher and testing and standards coordinator in K-8 schools, where I was responsible for creating academic interventions for students who struggled to meet state standards in Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. With nearly two decades of experience in education, I have come to appreciate that every student's learning style is unique. I am committed to helping students identify their strengths, overcome their academic challenges, and develop interests and passions that will serve them for years to come. My goal is to guide students to be courageous learners who seek to master their studies, to meet state standards and solve real-world problems.
